Danish Folk Songs - Video Recording

$40.00

In 2014, the Danish String Quartet (DSQ) released Wood Works, a collection of their own arrangements of Scandinavian folksongs. These stunning pieces took the string playing world by storm, and their second volume Last Leaf was eagerly received in 2019.

So inspired was the Nomad String Quartet by this music, that they chose it as the concert to launch their new identity (from the Ben Adler Quartet) performed at St Stephen’s Uniting Church on Saturday 6 August 2022.

Handpicking their favourite numbers from both DSQ volumes, Nomad composed music to extend and connect them. The result is a Danish feast in five courses, ranging from poignant Faroese wedding songs to contemporary Swedish folk funk to blistering reels inspired by music of the British Renaissance – and everything in between!

We invite you to enjoy the emotional journey through the landscape of the most beautiful music you’ve never heard!
