There’s a quality to string quartets that makes their performances sublime. There is joy and intimacy in the music that they create, or in the case of Candlelight recreate, where the range, dynamism and timbre of their instruments come to the fore. The Ben Adler Quartetis one of Sydney’s best and you can hear them work their skill and magic to deliver spellbinding renditions of Daft Punk’s greatest hits in April and May.
From “Aerodynamic” to “Within” through “Da Funk”, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “Robot Rock”, you will be left speechless as hundreds of candles flicker and glow, illuminating and creating an atmosphere ripe to “Lose Yourself To Dance”.

Daft Punk are no more, but their robot personas and their music live on with all of their hits that still get airplay and never tire. Their songs and style—combining elements of a variety of musical genres, from house to disco, indie rock to pop and hip hop—have been described as “magpie-like”, borrowing from any and everywhere to create musical masterpieces.
They’ve been sampled countless times, won multiple awards and composed the sensational soundtrack for the 2010 film Tron: Legacy, a medley of which you will also get to hear performed on cello, viola and two violins at Candlelight: A Tribute To Daft Punk at both the Holme Building and The Concourse.
Both the Holme Building at the University of Sydney and The Concourse concert hall will be lit up with the light of candles everywhere that their character and charm will envelop you. Add to that the music on the night thanks to the Ben Adler Quartet and you’ll “be up all night…”
